Ok, this is my first blog for ShoreTel and I’m doing it because I want to share with everyone that I work for a great company. When I joined ShoreTel’s Cloud Division (then, M5 Networks) one year ago, I was terrified of the unknown. I’d been with my previous company for many years and was quite comfortable in my position. So, naturally I did my homework on ShoreTel before I took the leap and boy, am I glad I did!
I work for a company that values its employees, as much as it values its clients. We are always having events for employees. For example, next week, I’ll be participating in Putt-apalooza here in our Austin office. The entry fees (a nominal $5) and any donated food item will benefit our local food bank – how fun is that! Not only fun, but we get to “do good” while we’re playing nine holes here in our local office.
We also had our own office “Shake off” to promote the company’s long standing Battle of the Bands learning program. I love that each office got really into it and had fun. ShoreTel is constantly asking us for feedback on internal trainings (a MUST among employees) and we do employee evaluations with our boss every six months to ensure that we’re on track and on the same page.
We assist our support team while they’re away from the phones so that no customer has to go to voicemail. We may not know the answer, but at least there’s a real person on the end of the other line for our clients and we are able to facilitate getting their issue resolved.
I’m free to work from home or come into our office…just like most of our clients. So, we really do practice what we preach when it comes to being mobile, being modern, and able to work from anywhere – because work is what we do, not who we are – or where we are.
My company is modern because we see the way of the future. That’s why ShoreTel acquired M5 Networks; to extend into a market they saw growing by the minute and to be able to offer services more quickly. ShoreTel truly enjoys new challenges and working with clients and partners to make businesses more successful by managing the phone system so that companies can focus on their business.
Technology is ever evolving and I appreciate that I work for a company that is willing to change right along with the times both for our clients and our employees. Growing can be tough business, but when you have a company that is willing to try new things, it makes my job more enjoyable.
