Don’t Sacrifice Success for Efficiency
Staffing agencies as well as large employers are always looking for better ways to manage their candidates. Over the past 10 years there has been a large push towards applicant tracking systems linked to company websites. This has allowed candidate flow to be tracked and easy access to all of their candidates from anywhere within an organization. Although this has greatly improved our efficiency, we’ve discovered this same process is keeping us from attracting candidates. Job seekers, especially the passive, more marketable job seekers simply lack the motivation, time or interest in spending an hour filling out information online. They may do this the first time they apply for a job but by the third time, they simply give up.
Smarter Technology for a Better Process
Employbridge identified this issue early on in our online applicant system. This year a simplified application process was launched. The new process parses more information from the submitted resume and requires the applicant to fill in less information than the traditional online application. Only if the applicants are qualified do they receive notification from the recruiter to move on with their application. They have the opportunity to do this online or in person. Sometimes technology can hurt you, but learning to roll with the punches and quickly, makes all the difference.
What do you think are the keys to a painless application process?
