A softphone is a software program for making telephone calls using a personal computer, rather than using dedicated hardware.   The ShoreTel Sky Softphone is designed to work with our phone system and behave like a traditional Cisco telephone.  It appears as an image of a phone, with a display panel and buttons with which you can interact.  It is used with a headset connected to the sound card of the PC, or with a USB headset.

Road warriors, remote workers, occasional telecommuters and everyone who likes a change of scenery can benefit from the ShoreTel Sky Softphone.  Users enjoy almost every feature of the Cisco phone right on the desktop without the hardware.

Our Softphone can be used for Contact Center agents, with Salesforce.com and other CRM integrations, with Outlook and browser-based click to dial, and with ShoreTel Sky Replay hosted call recording.  Users can switch between a traditional handset or use the softphone exclusively.

ShoreTel Sky Softphone is available as a monthly subscription or for a one time fee, making it a cheaper alternative to a hardware phone without any sacrifice to functionality. It also takes up no space as the phone is software based and “lives” on a laptop or desktop PC.   It is a highly mobile communications solution that will allow you to have an in-office appearance, regardless of where you really are.
